Fingerprint Friday

This is the view from the cafe atop of one of the University buildings where i work. I was wishing that it was the view from my office but on the other hand i'd get no work done! Still the constantly changing light did make me stop and think of the Maori Proverb:

Turn your face to the sun and the shadows fall behind you.

Sunday the 8th will be Remembrance Sunday here in the UK and it is wonderful to see the amount of people wearing poppies, as a symbol of humility, reverence and thanks for those who serve their country.

During the winter months my friend and i meet at my mum's house for a very small knitting group where in we knit, (badly in my case), chat and eat cake. Yesterday was the first meeting since the spring and it was such good fun. We laughed a lot. Sometimes routine can be  monotonous but at other times it's good to have something to look forward to, even if it is just simple laughter.  (also cake!)
